Choose Between Government and Company (Internship Program)

Since students were in the sixth semester or above, the University would give an assignment as a condition to step to the next semester, particularly to write thesis. They should finish a report that contains their own experience in the internship program in a firm. whether it is a government or a company. Both of the companies have some of differences to be preferences for students by their own needs.

If a student planned ti have an opportunity to get a job in government one day, then it would be better for him to apply the internship program there. It was easier to be hired as an intern employee than a permanent worker. Students could apply to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Trade, ASEAN, House of Representatives, and so on. They will receive some political experiences and escalate their value to get a chance to work there after graduation. There were also many governmental conference to be involved to witness how effective our government handle problems in our country. But the disadvantage to do internship here is students are not paid by the government during the program.

For the students who are willing to work in private company, to get more convenience and amount of salary after graduated, it is recommended for them to participate in private companies' internship program. We can particularly adapt with the situation which is full of cooperation and synergy between coworkers. They should learn how to work in team and how to be interdependent with other workers. Despite private companies have so many divisions and fields, the knowledge of how to work in a huge company simultaneously is almost same in every company. It is not taught by the lecturer in class. After all, more students prefer to apply internship program here is because they will get paid at least for meal allowance or transport money accommodation, but it means they have to compete with other students from other university who have the same interests.

To choose between private and public companies are related to students needs and plan after graduation. Students should deliberate their choice for it affects their future job and life.
