Once upon a time in a kingdom, there lived people in welfare with the king named King Carlos. He intended to wipe off all injustice or deviance which was happened in the society life. He saw that good habits should be kept. So, his people could live in prosperous and healthy life.

In a meeting with all councils, King Carlos presented the idea about to act distinctly if any people offended and did violence to another. He told the big concept about the point. He stated that the new motto in the kingdom was: “Doing charity everyday, honesty everywhere, and justice every time.” Whoever caught doing evil should be punished in jail forever. It was because the ‘bad’ one would influence another if they left offhand.

While King Carlos was presenting his speech, one of the council said that the punishment indirectly showed that the King was not being example. He also raised motion how if the jail punishment changed into ‘leaving the kingdom’. King Carlos disagreed for many reasons, it would lead everyone who leave the kingdom would destabilizing the kingdom itself. After the King ended his speech, the meeting instantly finished.

Right after the proclamation people immediately left the field and got home. They looked scared since they did not understand what the King meant of “being kind”. Everyone realized that they would be always made mistakes. The new King Carlos’ rule was seen as ambition that was too precious and would never become true. But no one could deny what the King wanted.

Every family in the kingdom tried to remind one another not to make a mess. The children who seemed risky resulting trouble caged in house for a while. Also teenagers were endured to keep them from the sanction.

There was silence for a week. Activities were done carefully by everyone with fake smiles and attitudes. Vendors set discount price in spite of not gaining profit, rich merchants did charity for the poor by giving all of their belongings, and prostitutes shut their clothes. All were done just to avoid the punishment.

Young people gathered in a secret basement discussed about the unstable condition of the empire. Escape was not the best choice to be chosen. So they were there to talk about stopping the ambition of King Carlos dreaming every human could be holy as God was.

In the first sight, the kingdom seemed more peaceful. Until an incident happened to a girl who ran off from her house since the parents forced her to marry someone she did not like. A guard caught her climbing the wall stone and rebelled by scratched the guards till bleeding. The following day, her parents came to the castle met the king and the councils. There were also some people had a witness role in the judgment day. The girl cried over and over asking apology from her mother and father. But none of them could modify the rule has made by King Carlos. So, as the rules occurred, the girl was accused as the convicted. While the councils discussing the progress she complained to the king. She said that she would had not injured the guards or tried to escape from the kingdom if that mother was not so conservative. Her parents seemed so upset for what had already been said by their daughter. “If trying to be right hurt your own parents, I prefer had a daughter of criminal,” said her dad. In the last minutes, King Carlos ended the clash with an order. The guards separated them so the king could continue the judgment.

“For opposed the parents, injured the guards, and blamed her own mother, this lady was convicted as a prisoner, by now and then.” So they sent her to the jail. Since that day, the fear of the people had risen up. The gathering of young people still existed to achieve alternative problem solving beside escaped from the reality.

One day, the King walked on the balcony seeing the progression of his new rule. The activity looked more regular than before according to his plan. But suddenly, King Carlos saw an uncommon phenomenon when people gathered and started yelling one to another. The most people complained because the market was empty without any product could be bought. In the other hand, the vendors gripped that doing charity everyday exactly damaged their own family. They got no money for feed their baby and lost their assets one by one.

The conflict was not easy to deal. None of them tried to stop the clash but continued by violence. In the moment, King Carlos gave an order to his guards to go to the place. Hundreds of the castle’s guards were just sent away. The people who were fighting become more along with the attendance of the guards. From the distant King Carlos hoped this incident could be bent.

After an hour, the massive clash became more harmful. The king sent more guards and decided to go along with them. Some of his assistances helped the king to stand out onto the barrels so his voice could go loudly for the people. “The pioneer must be punished!” he shouted. The crowd began to reduce the fray. They looked one another for seconds until they found a person and blamed him.

“He was not selling fruits for a week!”

“Yeah, we’re out of our food!”

“I gave apples for every person last week. I have no more things to sell,” replied the fruit seller for protection.

Then every one started complaining and had the courage of the opinion. They also argued about what happened after King Carlos imposed the new rule. But the King had everything to defend himself. He ended it by arrested the chosen people whom he thought as the pioneers.

At the night after the incident, a young man named Evan Bulgrchev led the routine gathering. He started directly that King Carlos had made the worst decision of making all flaws of human became perfect. He said that the great kindness belongs only to God. Whereas human was a form of the failure purity. Evan Bulgrchev wanted some representatives to join him made negotiation to King Carlos according to the punishment for his people. The plan was to talk in democratic peace way so both could achieve the best result and benefit.

In the next day, Bulgrchev and his representatives made preparation well such as cookies and ceramic to attract the King’s heart. They were going to leave the village, why the road was so quiet. Since yesterday most houses and stores were closed. They really wanted to know where everyone was.

They finally arrived in front of the castle bridge after passed 12 miles away. The bridge was not lifted as usual, so they were freely entering the gate. Bulgrchev saw something suspicious until the main gate was opened with the waiting King Carlos inside. He stood right there and said, “What kind of necessity that brought you here?”

“My precious King, it was a pleasure to meet you in the time,” Bulgrchev and others bowed in front of the King. Then Evan Bulgrchev continued the conversation, “If you allow me to know where everyone was it would be an honor, my Lord.”

“All of them were punished in jail due to the mistakes they just made. I’m afraid you don’t hear my new rule in past three weeks ago,” King Carlos replied him.

“I did, my Lord. But everyone, including you, is making mistakes.”

“What a shame!” the King looked so angry. But Bulgrchev still continued his argument.

“Too conventional if we say that good life comes from friendly people, lucky days, high wealth, or lovely wife. That roberry, the deviance, bullying, and even the death is created to become the part of our daily life, which is designed to result a good quality of life. A quality of life is not measured by kindness, my Lord, but from balance and harmony.”

The King still could not accept it. He just sent an order to catch him and the representatives to be punished together with everyone else.

Whenever people doing a good life, there is a chance of deviance or fault that can be happened. I imagined how we tried to be nice as God but it was just a box full of imagination. Optimistic saw that human made to work together with another, to do the duty for keeping the universe. This whole world is nothing but home for human. So, how special are we! Mankind have common sense, that distinct us from animals. That gifts have to be balanced, which is by our participation in life.
